A Legacy of Making a Meaningful Difference

Len and Ada Reynolds founded the Len Reynolds Trust in 1966, driven by a vision to support the Waikato community through education and meaningful work that would create lasting benefits. Together the Trust’s founders embodied a deep commitment to generosity, focusing their resources on helping those in need and avoiding waste.

The Len Reynolds Trust is a philanthropic organisation based in the Waikato region of Aotearoa New Zealand. Established in Len Reynolds’ memory, the Trust supports initiatives that reflect its core values of sustainability, community wellbeing, and innovation. Through its work across various sectors, the Trust aims to foster positive change and deliver long-lasting impacts in the region.

In 2024, the Trust adopted a new strategic direction following extensive workshops, consultations, and collaboration. Building on its legacy of supporting education and community wellbeing, the refreshed vision incorporates a broader focus on social equity, environmental stewardship, and upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi. At the heart of this strategy is a commitment to creating a Waikato where all children and young people thrive, emphasising systemic change and Māori-led solutions.

Building Strong Community Connections

As a family philanthropic funder, the Len Reynolds Trust enjoys a degree of flexibility in how it approaches funding. This allows for a more responsive and adaptive approach to addressing the needs of the communities it serves. The Trust’s funding strategy is driven by a model of high trust, focused on building strong, lasting relationships with the groups it supports.

Understanding the power of connection, we prioritise meaningful engagement with funded groups, aiming to make your work easier and more effective. The Trust is committed to continuous improvement, open to change, and dedicated to creating a more positive and sustainable future for the Waikato community.
